Chinese President Xi Jinping’s four-day visit to the U.S. will begin in the west coast city of Seattle.
Located in the northwestern state of Washington, Seattle is a commercial and tech hub, and a major port city for trans-Pacific and Asian trade.
The city is also the state’s largest, with around 3.6 million people living in its metropolitan area. Seattle is the headquarters of many major international companies, including Boeing, Amazon and Starbucks. Seattle Mayor Ed Murray told CCTV that the city’s strong economic ties with China go back decades.
